Has Feminism infiltrated the Church?
First, we must define what church we
mean. I mean the assembly or body of believers in the Lord Jesus
Christ by virtue of believing the gospel of grace; i.e., faith alone in
the finished work of Christ alone as the complete basis of salvation.
Speaking of this group the answer is that
like all worldliness, feminism
has infiltrated the thinking of many members of the Body of Christ to some
degree. Let's discuss how.
One of the ways is in the role of men and
husbands. I believe in men being yielded and submissive to the Lord in every
way, including in the love He says the man should and must show to his wife,
I believe in men being loving and kind and gentle always. But I do
not believe that the Lord wants men who have been sissified into
"submissive" husbands by women who really just want control and their own
way. God does not want men who are not really the heads of their home but
only the figurehead of such. Feminism has dictated much about the new "role"
of a man and it has found its way into the Christian home and church.
Let's be honest, it is not so hard to understand Ephesians
5:21-33. It is really very straight forward. This is women who will, for the
love of Christ, rank themselves under the authority of their husbands and
this is men who, for the love of Christ, will sacrificially love, care for,
and provide for his wife. The trouble comes when one or the other has an
agenda that they bring to the marriage. If the women wants control she will
find a way to try and put the man under her thumb (using scrip-ture, of course!)
and if the man wants to "lord" himself over the wife he will misuse verse
22.
Clearly, there is no thought in Ephesians 5 of men abusing
women or women abusing men. Neither is It a question of fairness for the
Lord would never condone unfairness. There is no thought here of misuse in
any respect. However, it is plain what is being stated by the Lord; the man
is the leader, the head, the final authority, and the direction giver in the
marriage and the wife is to be a "fitting helper" to him in this task. All
of Scripture bears this out and we do not need specially trained counselors
and physiologists to help us figure it out and cope.
What a joyful endeavor
this is when both husband and wife are yielded to the simple clear
instructions of the Lord! But how awful it is when one or the other is
selfish and abusive.
Men need to be strong in the Lord and the power of His
might and provide spiritual and domestic leadership and this must be done
with tenderness and love and respect unto the wife, but woe to the man who
is set up by a selfish women in a kind of no-win situation where she will
either control the marriage or destroy it. Feminism, psychology, and our
mixed up society are on her side and I have seen this kind of
situation and watched as the 'brave new counselors' misused the Scriptures
and sprinkled in psychology to justify a woman's sinful behavior.
I do not justify or condone, in any way, men who are harsh
and controlling and mean spirited toward their wives. What godly loving man
would do this?? Neither do I justify men who will not lead, and who will not
be truly spiritual men. but mark well; it is not always the men who are
abusive and cruel and destructive!

What about abortion?
In a Nutshell...
The Bible teaches that from the moment of
conception the embryo is a human being. Therefore, according to
the Word of God, abortion is killing a child.

False Teachings
Let's start with Prayer Counseling (otherwise known as
Theophostics). This tem is derived from two Greek words, Theos or God
and Phosis or light. Theophostics is touted as shedding God's
light to dispel satan's lies. While this sounds fine the mechanics of
what is involved in the "prayer counseling" is little more than a
mystical séance or trance combined with Psycho-Cybernetics (positive
thinking), a very unbiblical combination!
This practice is at best an unscriptural expectation for God
to "miraculously" reveal to the counselee the lies of satan that they have
believed and then to "miraculously" reveal His truth to answer these lies.
The difficulty is that it is all quite mysterious and the things "revealed"
are nothing more than negative feelings or thoughts answered by positive
feelings and thoughts.

Entertainment or impurity?
I recall the true story of a Pastor who threw his television set out
into the back yard. His neighbor asked what he was doing and the pastor
replied, "I was watching it and it swore at me! Nothing in my home is
going to do that to me!" We allow so much in the name of "entertainment"
that is really impurity and sin. What is the reason we do it? Is it
really okay with the Lord to be entertained by watching others sin and
by viewing nudity and all manner of vile things? Does He really not
care?
Wherefore come
out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the
unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye
shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Having therefore
these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness
of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God (2
Corinthians 6:17-7:1).

Psychology and excuses for sin
I have experienced the horrors of those who use psychology and
needs based thinking (aka brave new counseling) as an excuse and justification for their sinful
rebellion to God's Word and ways; and to dishonor of the things of
Christ with sinful actions.
When those who say they are believers are bent on rationalizing away our sin,
oh the devastation it causes!

Which Bible?

Do We Need Psychology?
What did believers use before the current era? Was not the Word of
God sufficient for every situation?
All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good
works (2 Timothy 2:16, 17).
